Cast off from San Diego Harbor and head into the waters of San Diego Bay in search of the majestic California gray whale. Feel the exhilaration of seeing some of the ocean's largest and most magnificent creatures.
Enjoy live educational narration from the captains and a trained naturalist from the San Diego Natural History Museum. As you make your way out to the bay, pass by the historic landmarks that dot the coastline, such as the naval submarine base, Point Loma Light House, and Cabrillo National Monument.
Witness the many varieties of marine life that call the bay home. Gray whales are essentially an unavoidable sight in the bay, but humpback and killer whales are frequently sighted as well. Many other animals call this area home. You may see several species of dolphin, California sea lions, and a wide variety of marine birds—including brown pelicans and blue herons.
You can also explore the various sections of the whale-watching boat, the outdoor lounging areas, where you can sit and enjoy the breeze and breathtaking skyline views.
We are fortunate to have beautiful outdoor decks* that are available for sightseeing on San Diego Bay. We have great weather on the bay right now, we would just recommend you bring a hat, light sweater or jacket and of course your shades! Access to outer decks is via stairs only
