We’ll hike along different parts of the wall, some old and crumbling, others newly restored. And heading back to the historically rich and rapidly modernizing city of Beijing。

  • The included meals are as follows: Besides the buffet Western breakfast at the hotel in Beijing, the other days will feature Chinese breakfast, but we will also prepare some coffee, tea, and fruit. Lunch: Since we will be hiking the Great Wall, lunch will be packed and will include items like chocolate, apples, biscuits, etc. Dinner: There will be both meat and vegetable dishes, so vegetarians have nothing to worry about.
  • It is located in a remote mountain area, and the accommodation conditions are rather basic. However, there is still hot water available and private bathrooms. Two people will share a room.

A professional private guide will be standing by to warmly welcome you at the airport’s arrival hall or the train station’s exit. A private car will then provide a direct and comfortable transfer to your hotel. We kick off our adventure with a delightful welcome dinner featuring one of the city's most iconic dishes: Beijing duck. Vegetarians, no need to worry – a variety of delicious options will be available for you to enjoy.
Day 2: Journey to Huanghuacheng; afternoon trek begins

Water Great Wall at Huanghuacheng

We’ll depart the city this morning and make our way to the countryside, embarking on a 2 to 2.5-hour drive northwest to the Great Wall. At Huanghuacheng, a less trodden section by a scenic lake, we’ll begin our adventure. Known as ‘Yellow Flower City’, this area bursts with yellow wildflowers in the summer. Today’s hike is a bit of a challenge with its rugged terrain, but the vistas are rewarding! We’ll spend the night at a guesthouse near this stretch of the wall. Distance trekked: 3mi (5km)  Hiking time: 4-5 hours
Day 3: Trek the Mutianyu section, past numerous watchtowers

We’ll take a brief drive (1-1.5 hours) to Mutianyu, where the Wall’s grandeur is on full display, winding through mountains and valleys. This well-preserved section, once a northern defense for the capital, boasts 22 watchtowers. After exploring Mutianyu, we’ll move on to Jiankou village to enjoy local hospitality. Distance trekked: 7mi (11km)  Hiking time: 5-6 hours 
Day 4: Explore Jiankou’s “Wild Wall”

Jiankou’s wild section, built along a mountain’s edge, is an untamed beauty with towers perched on steep ridges. Today’s highlights include the “Spiderman Wall”, offering an optional challenging climb for panoramic views. This section is a photographer’s dream, known for its unique style and breathtaking scenery. We’ll hike about 4 km in the morning and another 4.5 km in the afternoon, with the option to witness the sunset from the wall. Distance trekked: 6mi (9km)  Hiking time: 6-7 hours
Day 5: Hike the Great Wall Jinshanling section

We’ll conquer the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall today, known for its Ming Dynasty heritage and excellent preservation. This section soars to seven meters high and six meters wide, featuring intricate structures and watchtowers. The hike from Erchi Tower to Zhuandoukou Tower is a memorable one, showcasing the Wall’s grandeur.  Distance trekked: 5mi (8km) Hiking time: 5 hours 
Day 6: Beijing city tour visiting Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City

Our day begins with a morning walking tour of the Tian’anmen Square, the world's largest public square, capable of holding over a million people. Afterwards, we explore the Forbidden City, renowned for its countless courtyards and temples. In the evening, you can choose from several optional activities, including the spectacular Beijing opera,a relaxing foot reflexology treatment to soothe your tired feet.
