The Völklingen Ironworks World Heritage Site is the only completely preserved ironworks from the heyday of industrialization and at the same time the first monument of this era, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today the Völklinger forms Hut with its numerous halls, open spaces and the captivating tangle of pipe systems a unique venue for international exhibitions and festivals and concerts. Culture is joined by nature: paradise, emerging from it former “hell” of the coking plant, fascinated by the recapture of parts of the Terrain with diverse flora and fauna.
