Overview

Travel in A/C SUV (or minibus) visiting the famous Vallarta Botanical Gardens and the historic pueblo (town) of El Tuito with guide and driver offering constant explanations of what we encounter. (In English)

At the Botanical Gardens we will spend up to 2 hours touring the different planting beds, nursery, and gift shops. This includes the Vanilla Plantation, Orchid Houses, Begonia House, Cactus House, Rhododendrons House, and aquatic plant pools.

After leaving the Gardens we will travel back in time while visiting the old Mexican town of El Tuito. We will make a stop for lunch (not included) and also visit the old plaza, church, city Hall, downtown area, art gallery & cemetery among other sites.

Other stops made on this tour will include most of the following: ancient petroglyph site, bakery, tequila tasting, coffee experience, and small bay port/boat harbor - time permitting.

Along the route to the Gardens the guide will point out and discuss many interesting features including the OXXO with the world's best view, Boca de Tomatlan, Ranchos of Las Juntas and Los Veranos, and especially the sites of the filming of the Hollywood movies "Night of the Iguana" and "predator." We will make a first quick stop for coffee and a small presentation on coffee plantations and growing in the area and have the opportunity to taste. At the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, we immediately will have access to a restroom. Then we will have opportunity to apply bug spray (included) and then we will walk through the gardens for an hour and half or more exploring the major plantings, hot houses, and the vanilla plantation.
El Tuito

After leaving the gardens our next stop is at a site to view the ancient Petrographs. On this site there are about 10 that we will have the time and access to view and discuss. Our next stop is El Tuito. First up is lunch at a very popular restaurant with the local Mexican population ensuring this lunch will likely be one of the tastiest and most authentic meals you will enjoy on your travels. (cost not included) We will then tour the historic plaza of El Tuito visiting many of the shops surrounding the square in the hundreds of year old colonial era buildings. Will also tour the Presidencia (city hall) and the church a block away (not always open for visitation inside) We will then re-board the transportation and drive through some bucolic fields on our way for a quick view of the hilltop cemetery of El Tuito. We will also visit an art gallery located in the country villa of Puerto Vallarta's most famous painter Manuel Lepe (1936 to 1984.) Tequila tasting and bakery final
Bay of Banderas

We will travel the picturesque south shore as we travel to the Botanical Gardens. Along the route the guide will point out and discuss many interesting features including the OXXO with the world's best view, Boca de Tomatlan, Ranchos of Las Juntas and Los Veranos, and especially the sites of the filming of the Hollywood movies "Night of the Iguana" and "predator." This is travel time both ways. 1.5 hours approx. total (45 min both ways)

We will do a drive through of this beautiful small bay on a bay community that has a great beach, boat docks, and a few wonderful restaurants on the beach and malecon over the river and bay.
