Activity itinerary

Vermont Route 100
  • 2h
As the audio guides play commentary based on your gps location, you can create your own itinerary along the tour route to match your interests and schedule.
Waitsfield Covered Bridge (Pass by)
Vermont holds the record for the greatest number of authentic covered bridges per capita in the country. We will see several of these protected bridges on our drive along RT 100. Some of our favorites are at Warren, Waitsfield and Jeffersonville which as at the very northern end of our drive, and actually located on RT108.
Stowe
  • 2h
Is there a quainter ski mountain town in the US? Oh it's got superb skiing and facilities on Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak but it's the picture postcard perfect town center and friendly locals that provide a unique reprieve from citylife for most visitors. But believe it or not, Stowe's busiest time is the summer when visitors flock for activities like hiking, golf, rockclimbing, biking and ziplining. Stowe is also a favorite location for the amazing Fall foliage show and leaf peepers arrive from all over the world to enjoy the amazing colors.
Smugglers Notch (Pass by)
What is a notch? Well that depends on where you are from. It's the lowest point in a mountain range. In the South you'll probably call it a gap, in the West it's a pass. So Smugglers Notch represents the path between the Green Mountains and Sterling Range. Anything from goods, livestock and liquor was transported and even slaves escaping to Canada used this route. Smugglers Notch is a fun and scenic part of our drive and actually follows RT108 between Stowe and Jeffersonville which is the northern end point (or start point) of our tour route.
Trapp Family Lodge
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Yes, the same family as in the epic Sound of Music movie settled in the United States, fleeing Nazi occupied Austria in 1939. After touring the country, they purchased an old farm in Stowe, later renamed to Trapp Family Lodge. There is now extensive accommodations, dining and a brewery onsite.
Warren Covered Bridge (Pass by)
Vermont holds the record for the greatest number of authentic covered bridges per capita in the country. We will see several of these protected bridges on our drive along RT 100. Some of our favorites are at Warren, Waitsfield and Jeffersonville which as at the very northern end of our drive, and actually located on RT108.
Cold Hollow Cider Mill
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Few things are as classic-Vermont as a cup of hot apple cider on a cold day. But when fermented, apple cider is also a delicious alternative to beer and wine. And even better, cider makes a terrific flavor for donuts. We will recommend a stop at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill to try all of these treats!
Cabot Creamery Store - Waterbury
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Vermont is famous for its dairy products and fresh produce. In a single location at Cabot Farmer's Store, we can enjoy sampling classic Vermont cheeses, chocolates and other delicacies. There is also a selection of hard ciders and wines from the region.
Ben & Jerry’s
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Hands down, the number one most popular spot on this foodie highway is that world-famous ice cream factory. With upwards of 55 flavors, it could be the most difficult decision of your entire vacation. (chocolate chunky monkey for us). Make sure to see the flavors that have been "retired" in the flavor graveyard!
The Vermont Country Store Weston
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket not included
This is the quintessential Vermont-style country store along our drive. Most travelers will pop in to search for souvenirs, tasty treats to sample, and quality woollen and outerware. Many more things than we can list here. The store is located in the Village of Weston and is a must-stop.
Calvin Coolidge Homestead
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
This modest farmhouse home to President Calvin Coolidge, aligns with his values; honesty, frugality and a reserved self restraint. Perhaps a welcome change from a period of scandals and instability. Explore inside this National Historic Landmark to learn how this native Vermonter actually restored public opinion in the government! Located near the Killington portion of our drive. Optional stop: Admission fees vary ~ $12 p/adult.
