Overview

Start your tour in the bohemian district of Sao Paulo. Along bike paths, explore the region known for its classic restaurants, bars, and urban art murals. Continue to Bom Retiro, a traditional immigrant neighborhood and region influenced by the textile industry. You will visit Luz Station (train), Pinacoteca (museum) and Parque da Luz, the first public park in São Paulo. You will then pass through the historical center and Vale do Anhangabaú. After visiting the squares, streets and alleys of the historical center, you will head to Liberdade, an area known as a Japanese neighborhood with a lot of Eastern influence and stories associated with the Afro-Brazilian community. Finish your tour with a visit to Roosevelt Square, another bohemian area with theaters, bars and restaurants.

The current building complex was built between 1910 and 1922 according to the plans of the German architect Richard Berndl in the style of eclecticism, with neo-romanesque style being dominant.

The Catedral Metropolitana de São Paulo or Catedral da Sé is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of São Paulo in Brazil. Often referred to as the fourth largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the world despite its Renaissance-style dome, it stands on the Praça da Sé or Cathedral Square in the city of São Paulo. The history of the cathedral begins in 1589 with the decision to build a main church in the small town of São Paulo. The church, which stood on the same site as the current cathedral, was not completed until 1616. When São Paulo became the seat of the diocese in 1745, the church was demolished and replaced by a new baroque-style church. Completed in 1764, this modest church was the Cathedral of São Paulo until it was demolished in 1911.
