Take a tour of the family-run Château Haute-Nauve in Saint-Émilion with a member of the family, Marie-Anne or Florent ( Mother and Son). Walk through the vineyards and learn about the production of French wine from the makers, visit the wine cellars, and finish the experience with a tasting of four wines from the premises.
Start with a tour of the vineyard, where you'll hear about the family ( 4th generation ) history of the estate, and the specificities and varieties of the Saint-Émilion wine appellation. See various plots of vines and learn about how work on the vineyard changes throughout the year.
Amongst other sights, you'll spot a wind turbine and a bottle of wine 6 meters tall. Hear how the Château tackles challenges like crop frost, prioritizes sustainability and diversification, and develops new wine varieties.
Next, visit the vinification cellar to learn about the entire production process, including fermentation, pumping, and pressing. The tour ends in the barrel cellar, where you'll see the methods used for aging wine.
Finish with a guided tasting of four wines from the Château, including two with Grand Cru appellations.
