Las Coloradas is located within the biosphere of Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan Peninsula at 250 km from Merida. Is a small fishing village characterized by having the largest salt mine in Mexico. Las Coloradas spectacular pink color is due to its high concentration of salt, microorganisms and the sun.
