Activity itinerary

Constance Harbour
  • 15m
Our humorous, yet very informative city tour, during which you get to know the past and present of the historic Lake Constance metropolis, starts at the port in Constance. Our guides will introduce you to the courtesan Imperia and tell you what happened during the world event of the Council, which took place from 1414-1418. Continue through the picturesque center of Konstanz's old town, passing imposing buildings and adorable townhouses, which often look back on an almost 1,000-year building history. On a short tour of the cathedral of Constance, the former Episcopal Church, you will learn a lot of history from the past of Constance from our guide. Our tour ends after about 2 hours at the market place in Konstanz. The square is located in the heart of the old town and invites you to relax in a cosy café, take a snack or stroll through the many original boutiques.
Fischmarkt
  • 10m
Here at the corner of Hohenhausgasse/Oberer Fischmarkt stands the "Hohe Haus". It dates back to 1194 - supposedly it was built from top to bottom... Look forward to the stories of our guide who are related to this house!
Konstanzer Munster
  • 15m
The historic center of the city of Konstanz is the Münster. Let our guide show you the special features of the former Episcopal Church and experience a piece of contemporary history to touch.
Munsterplatz, Konstanz
  • 10m
The sprawling Münsterplatz is lined with mighty cathedral courtyards from the Baroque period, when Constance was still a bishop's seat. It was also the site of the "Constantia" castle, built by the Romans almost 2000 years ago, which finally gave Constance its name. Take a look at the remains of the ancient Roman castle walls.
Old Town (Niederburg)
  • 10m
In the oldest district of Konstanz, the Niederburg, medieval stone houses, pawnshops of wealthy cathedral owners and impressive administrative buildings from the Baroque period still dominate today. Walking through the narrow old streets and with the anecdotes of our guide, you will see the vivid image of a very well preserved medieval city.
Wessenbergstraße
  • 10m
The Wessenbergstraße leads through the middle of the pedestrian zone of Konstanz. Browse one of the many original shops and recharge your batteries in one of the cosy cafés. Our guide will be happy to pass on tips to you!
Konstanzer Obermarkt
  • 10m
The Obermarkt was an important trading centre in earlier times. Here was also the pillory, with the help of which punishments were carried out in public in the Middle Ages. During the Council period, the "cradle of Prussia" stood here, of all places in Germany's last tip. Our guide knows how to tell you all this and much more.
Kaiserbrunnen
  • 10m
In the heart of the council city of Constance is the Kaiserbrunnen, named after the numerous kings and emperors who have made a stop in Constance over the course of history. You will also encounter all kinds of strange animals here, such as a horse with 8 legs and rabbits with fish tails and fins. Find out more about these strange creatures and why they can be found in Konstanz of all places.
