Visit Ilonka Experience Farm during the Polar Night Season and feel the holiday spirit! Walking through a winter wonderland, seeing the huskies in their homes, cuddling with sheep, learning about life on the farm, nature and Finnish mythology, and enjoying the festive atmosphere. The activities and fire in the Kota Cafe will keep you warm.
Here you get to connect with nature, each other, and yourself.
On the path, you will find tasks to do, to be, to sense, and to feel. There is always at least one seasonal handicraft to do. You will meet the furry family members, learn their names, and some special facts about each animal. Watching the huskies play and sheep gaze is meditation in itself. You can also stay to see the huskies being fed.
After the outdoors activities, it’s nice to explore the Holiday Boutique with ecological products and handicrafts and enjoy the calming atmosphere in the cozy sensory hut Kammi. You can also write a letter to Santa and post it in his letterbox at the Kota Cafe while having lunch or sipping a warm drink.
We have two slots daily for Kids’ and Teens’ Husky Sledding where the minors get to take the reins and drive on their own or with the help of their guardians. This, as well as the Husky Walks into the wilderness, is an additional activity which should be booked in advance.
Please note: If you want your child (ca 4-17 years) to participate in the Husky Sledding Activity, you need to purchase an additional ticket for this. There is a limited number of spots in these activities, so please book well in advance!
The gates at Ilonka open at 1pm and close at 5pm. The additional Kids’ Husky Sledding is at 1.30 and 2.30 (book in advance!). At 3.45pm we have sheep cuddling time, and at ca 4.30 the huskies get their dinner. The additional Husky Walk activity is at 4pm (1 hour extra activity, not included in the farm visit).
You are warmly welcome to Ilonka and enjoy the afternoon at the farm!
