Witness some incredible mountain views on this 5-day hiking trip from Pokhara to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Journey with your private guide and discover stunning nature and a marvellous variety of vegetation. Relax and restore with all meals included.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek, also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, is a trip to a high glacial basin lying 40 km directly north of Pokhara. This oval-shaped plateau sits at an altitude of over 4000 meters and is surrounded by a ring of mountains, the Annapurna range, most of which are over 7000 meters. With the only entrance a narrow valley between the peaks of Himchuli and Macchapucchre, where run-off from glaciers drains into Modi Khola River, the Sanctuary was not penetrated by outsiders until 1956.
Get some insights into an extraordinary variety of ecosystems in the Annapurna Sanctuary. Check out the south-facing slopes, which are covered in dense tropical jungles of rhododendrons and bamboo, while the north-facing slopes, in the rain shadow, have a drier, colder climate similar to that of the nearby Tibetan Plateau.
