Walk through Oxford with someone who knows it from the inside. Our guides are Oxford students or graduates who combine personal experience with a strong knowledge of the city’s history, traditions, and architecture. The 90-minute tour includes landmarks such as Balliol College, Trinity College, the Sheldonian Theatre, the Bridge of Sighs, the Old Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Square, All Souls College, St Mary’s Church, Merton College, and the meadows beside Christ Church.
You’ll wander along quiet lanes and bustling quads, near the very places where J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Oscar Wilde, T.S. Eliot, once walked. As you go, you’ll admire the city’s rich blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture, and hear the stories that shaped Oxford and its people.
The tour takes place entirely outdoors, focusing on Oxford’s streets, squares, and college exteriors. If selected when booking, AFTER THE WALKING TOUR ENDS, your visit can be extended with a self-guided entry to New College—one of Oxford’s most beautiful and historic colleges.
Following the walking tour, relax on a 30-minute chauffeured punting tour along the River Cherwell. Glide past iconic landmarks such as the Botanic Gardens and Christ Church Meadows, where Lewis Carroll found inspiration for his famous works.
