FIRST STOP
The “Alebrijes” are the most emblematic craft of Oaxaca, these colorfoul and fantasy animals are made out of wood and you will enjoy visiting a women cooperative where we can find the only female master carver of this town to see the whole process of elaboration. (1 hour)
SECOND STOP
In the Santo Tomas Jalietza town people still use the ancient tecnique of weavin working with the backstrap loom. A group of women that used to be farmers now are recognized nationally for their incredible textile pieces. We will visit their house where we can see the grandma, daughters and the grand daughter working in the patio. (40 min)
LUNCH TIME!
You will enjoy the oaxacan gastronomy in a small and traditional restaurant with different options of meals.

THIRD STOP
The Master Monica is the happiest woman participating in this tour because thanks to this craft she was able to make her dreams come true. She was the inspiration of many women from her town due to time ago women were not allow to have a formal job here. Monica now leads a group of women making beautiful wood frames in barroco style for old paiting from churches and mirrors. (40 min)
FOURTH STOP
This experience needed a great ending so you will enjoy a Mezcal tasting with the sunset!
Rosario is a young master distiller in this small town who suffered a lot of critics by the community and even from her own family. She was told making Mezcal was “a Men´s work” but now she enjoys producing mezcal distilling it in clay pots. (1 hour and 30 min)
