The half-day wildlife viewing tour along the Carate Road is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the rich biodiversity of this region in a brief but intensely enriching time. The adventure begins in Puerto Jimenez with a certified guide of the area experts and passionate about conservation, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of species in their natural habitat.

During the tour, it is common to encounter monkeys, colorful birds such as toucans and macaws, and if you are lucky, you will see sloths in the heights of trees, reptiles and small mammals that inhabit the area. In addition, the guide will share fascinating data on the local ecosystem, the conservation history of the peninsula and the importance of each species for the balance of this rainforest.

This activity starts from our office located in Puerto Jimenez at 6am where you will meet a certified local guide, right here you could leave your car in the private parking lot, be prepared to board a 4*4 vehicle and head to Carate last village right on the edge with Corcovado National Park the main idea of the tour is to observe wildlife along the way so stops are made during the activity, in the car we take water and refreshments for the comfort of the traveler, they can carry cameras or just a phone to take photography with the help of a telescope, it is definitely one of the best activities for wildlife observation as Corcovado national park will be full of tourists all year round and the trails full of people and sometimes it is difficult to observe wildlife by so many tourists who visit, once they arrive in Carate take a short pause to enjoy the place and the view of the beach in addition to having an aperitif before returning to Puerto Jimenez to Lunch, and after Lunch the activity ends.
