In the middle of life in Stuttgart: Located directly on Königstraße and Schlossplatz, the glass cube of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart attracts everyone's eye. The museum building inspires with its simple architectural elegance and appears open and inviting due to its transparency. The part of the museum that is visible from afar is reserved for the thematic and monographic exhibitions on international art that change several times a year. Inside, the building surprises with an extensive exhibition area that is located underground in a defunct tunnel system. Selected highlights of a unique collection of modern and contemporary art are housed here on two floors. The presentation of the collection thrives on the interplay of continuity and change. Always present: Otto Dix and the pioneer of modernism Willi Baumeister, whose archive is housed in the Kunstmuseum.
