What you can expect

Explore Hamburg on a 2-hour walking tour through the historic Speicherstadt (warehouse district) and the modern HafenCity. You begin the tour at the Rödingsmarkt metro station and cross over the Binnenhafenbrücke after taking a look at the 17th century houses on the Deichstraße.

Stroll along the former Zollkanal with fantastic insights into the canals through the Speicherstadt. Discover interesting facts about the origins of this unique warehouse complex. Find out what jobs were available in past times, how products are transported into the building nowadays, why there are no floors, and why only the buildings in the east have round towers.

You then cross over the Brooktorkai and join the 21st century. Between glass buildings in modern designs, there are several listed buildings to admire such as the Kaispeicher B (quay warehouse B) with the Maritime Museum, and the Port Authority on Überseeboulevard. Marvel at the highest schoolyard in Hamburg and the unique Elbe Philharmonic Hall at the Coffee Plaza. Enjoy the views from the Unilever building over the harbour and hopefully a large cruise ship.
