We’ll hazard a guess that the Palace of Versailles and Monet’s Garden at Giverny are on your French bucket list (we all have one of those, right) Thanks to our round trip from Paris you can enjoy both in the same day. Want to feel like you’re in one of Monet’s paintings. Check! Your visit to his gardens in Giverny is the closest you’re gonna get, as you gaze at your reflection in the water lily pond that inspired his Nymphéas series and cross the Japanese bridge featured in his paintings. Want to see how the other half lived. Compare your décor to that of Louis XIV at the majestic palace of Versailles. Don’t forget your crown and easel as you head out on this two-in-one day trip. First stop, Giverny, where Monet spent the end of his life surrounded by the lush foliage and water features that so inspired him. You’re bound to be inspired too as you explore the sprawling gardens of the property. After a sumptuous lunch at the Moulin de Fourges riverbank restaurant, you’ll head to Versailles and experience the rich splendor of this former palace, visiting the royal apartments and impressive Hall of Mirrors with your art historian guide. Then it’s out to the backyard (an understatement if ever there was one!) to wander through the tree-lined avenues and extensive landscaped gardens. Choose the right date (see below) and you’ll be lucky enough to see the Musical Fountains show with fountains ‘dancing’ in time to numbers from Louis XIV’s reign. Finally, you’ll hop back on the bus to be transported back to Paris in comfort.
