Start your morning with a leisurely stroll around the crater of Trou Aux Cerf. A much-loved part of the city with stunning views, the dormant volcano is a charming gem overlooking the town of Curepipe and dominates the view over the island. The huge volcanic crater reveals the existence of the paradise island that was formed millions of years ago and is approximately 85 meters in depth and 300 meters wide.
Voiliers de L Ocean

Afterwards, we will discover the handmade ship models at Voiliers de l’Ocean. This shop could be chosen as one of the most unusual places, giving visitors a real island feel. Watch how skilled local artisans perfect and craft scale models of historical ships, galleons and boats that were used to transport goods and produce to and from the island. Fitting one in your suitcase to take back home may prove difficult but the shop can make arrangements for your purchase to be shipped to you.
Curepipe
  • 30m
Moving on from the model ship factory, we will visit the town of Curepipe where you will discover a myriad of small boutiques in a tranquil atmosphere, with no pushy sellers, offering a wide range of goods from cashmere pashminas and garments to jewellery and souvenirs. Most of the shops have been operated for generations and provide the best quality of products exported from Europe and India that have been made using traditional skills and techniques. Indulge your loved one’s fantasies with fashionable times. Don’t forget to bring your passport, as duty-free shopping is widely available.
Le Domaine des Aubineaux
  • 25m

The colonial house of Domaine Des Aubineaux was built in 1872 out of teak and other local woods taken from demolished ships and is home to several antiques, furniture and paintings dated back to the 18th century. The residence was one of the first to be equipped with electricity on the Island. It was inhabited by the Guimbeau family native of France and established in Mauritius for eight generations now.
Bois Cheri Tea Factory and Tea Museum
  • 45m
  • Admission ticket included
Leaving Curepipe and descending southbound from the central plateau, you will take in the beautiful views of the landscapes en route to the Bois Cheri Tea Plantation and Factory. Witness how the tea leaves are hand-picked and processed from plant to teapot. After the visit, we will take you to their charming restaurant nestled on the hill, where you will feast on a scrumptious traditional lunch. Let the tea sommelier prepare you a nice cup of tea as you sit back in the tranquil atmosphere and take in the dominating views over the tea plantations.

There is also an insectarium hosting 25,000 species and a museum dedicated to the island’s native extinct flightless dodo bird.
Senneville Agricultural Ltd

On our way back, we will stop on one of the highest bridges, which was used for the train transportation of sugar cane harvested from the plantations of the Savanne region. Capture the perfect Instagram photo with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking views of the lush rainforest of the Savanne region to the southern coast and ocean beyond.
La Plantation de Saint Aubin
  • 35m

Afterwards, we will visit the factory and distillery of Saint Aubin and relish their famous rum, which they have been producing since 1819. Their white cane rum, made from fresh sugar cane, was awarded a silver medal at the London Spirit Competition in 2018. We are sure you will love it too! Enjoy a stroll in the garden of the colonial house that was built in the beginning of their expedition back in 1819.
