Together, with your local escort, you will explore the island’s local culture, from village to village, meet people and taste traditional products!
Visit the oldest Citron distillery of the Naxos, dating back to 1896, in Halki. There, take the chance to taste the local Citron drink.
Continue your tour to Kaloxylos Village. Here we will visit a historical building that houses the island's first electric company and its first ever electric oil-press. We will have a sample tasting of extra virgin olive oil followed by exploring the nostalgic alleys of the village.
Our next stop will be the year-round lively village of Filoti. We will visit its central church, walk by the Venetian Tower of Barozzi and stroll through the picturesque neighborhood of Fasolas, where we will visit a century-old shop of a grocer.
After a short break at the local “kafeneion” will taste traditional Greek coffee and then local seasonal mezedes (our Greek tapas).
Then, a visit at Apeiranthos will give you the chance to see the famous marble village and taste some bread from a traditional bakery with a wood-fired oven. The architectural design of the houses in Apeiranthos has remained almost untouched since the time of the Venetian Empire: narrow marble paved mule tracks, often covered by archways; Venetian defense towers which are exemplary of the fortifications architecture of the time; two-story stone houses with peculiar architectural details and tiny squares.
