Luang Prabang, the stunning UNESCO World Heritage City contains many magnificent major historical sights, and it is a must visit destination. Once then, head out of town to discover the wonderful scenic spots in the peaceful yet attractive surrounding countryside.
You will start your trip with a visit to the former royal palace which was constructed between 1904 & 1905. Originally constructed during the French colonial times to serve as a living area for King Sisavang, this amazing museum is the place where you can see the original royal chambers, paintings depicting traditional Lao life, a throne room, and four of the old royal cars, including an Easel.
Here you will take some time to walk around to discover this magnificent building before continuing onwards to Wat Visoun temple which was constructed by Visounnarath 500 years ago in 1513! After enjoying lunch, you will go to Ock Pop Tok weaving center - a Lao fair trade textile enterprise.
The exceptionally scenic Kuang Xi Waterfall which is surrounded with turquoise blue pools and a perfect place for swimming is your next stop.
After that, you can pass by the Free the Bears Center, a rescue center for threatened Asiatic black bears. If available, you can also talk with the centers Program Manager to know more about the pan-Asian organization which provide home for black bears rescued from poachers and traffickers.
On your way back to Luang Prabang, you will visit Wat Phousi and be awarded with stunning view of the city at the end of the tour.
