Head out of Osaka and spend the day in the snowy wonderland of Biwako Valley Ski Resort. After a convenient bus transfer out to the snow, catch bird's-eye vistas of the region from the Aerial Ropeway, sled and play in the Snow Land area, or hit the slopes for some skiing action.

Depart in the morning for a drive through scenic countryside to Biwako Valley Ski Resort. The best place for snowfall in the Kansai region, Biwako Valley offers fantastic skiing trails in addition to a play area for non-skiiers. Step aboard the Aerial Ropeway and gaze out the window for spectacular views of the valley, the lake for which it's named, and the surrounding region as you're lifted gently up the mountain.

Visit Snow Land for some family-friendly fun. Grab a sled and go sliding down the powdery inclines, or climb aboard an inner tube and go sweeping through the snow on a merry-go-round-like ride. Skiiers can rent equipment and head up the slopes to find slalom and mogul trails suited for all skill levels and even a half pipe for practicing tricks.

If you need a break, stop by indoor Biwako Street to do some shopping, or replenish your energy at one of the resort's restaurants, many of which offer incredible views. At the end of the day, climb aboard the bus again and relax on your way back to Osaka.
