Itinerary
After picking you up at your hotel in Piura at 9:00 a.m., we will head southwest until we reach the city of Sechura. The trip by minibus will take us about an hour and a half.
We will visit the city and admire its most famous places, such as the Plaza de Armas or the San Martin de Tours church, the main temple of this provincial capital. We will talk about its origins, going back to 1770, while we can see its high towers and admire its baroque details.
We will continue our excursion to the mangroves of San Pedro de Vice where, besides enjoying the scenery, we will be able to see migratory birds from far away places like Canada. We will get to know this estuary of the province of Sechura in depth and we will teach you to identify the different animal species we see.
Afterwards, we will visit the beach of Chulliyachi and leave you an hour of free time to have lunch and contemplate the charms of this golden sandy bay. Here, you will be able to see the ruins of a ghost town, from its church to its old mud houses once inhabited by Sechuran fishermen. The weakness of the materials and the action of the sea caused the total abandonment of this small fishing village.
Finally, we will head to Médano Blanco, one of the most famous areas of the Sechura desert. Here, we will give you a sandboard to enjoy sliding down the dunes of this natural place, it will be a lot of fun!
We will finish the excursion at 5:30 p.m. and drop you off at your hotel.
