The Alcazar of Jerez de la Frontera is a set of fortified buildings of Almohad origin that were probably built in the 12th century, being the oldest Almohad building in the Iberian Peninsula, to which later were added palatial baroque buildings, and which is one of the main monuments of the city; It is located in the southwest corner of the wall that surrounded the city, next to the Alameda Vieja.
After a beautiful walk through the streets of Jerez, we will go to the Cathedral of Jerez de la Frontera. The cathedral of the Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez is a 17th century construction that combines Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.
We will continue our private tour to the Cartuja de Jerez de la Frontera, which is located to the south of the city. It is the monumental complex of greatest artistic value in the province of Cadiz, in Andalusia. Its initial architectural style corresponds to late Gothic and dates from the 15th century.
