What you can expect
Discover the best of this wonderful island on a private full-day tour. You will spend the day exploring Kefalonia’s most fascinating spots including the majestic St. George’s Castle, you’ll enjoy a wine-tasting experience at Orealios Gaea Winery and you will stop at the charming fishing village of Fiscardo - where you can wander the cobbled streets and enjoy delicious Greek delicacies!
The tour will start in the island’s commercial and administrative centre - Argostoli. We then head to marvel at an incredible natural phenomenon on the island - the sinks of Katavothres. Here Seawater disappears into the seabed and appears again in the village of Karavomylos in a different part of the island.
Next is a stop at the spectacular Lighthouse of Saint Theodoroi which is built on a rugged man-made peninsula.
The tour continues with a visit to the Italian War Memorial situated on a tree-lined coastal road leading to the town of Lassi. The monument is dedicated to the Italians who lost their lives after refusing to surrender to the Germans.
Next is a short hike up to St. George’s Castle set atop a hill. This Venetian beauty offers up fantastic views of Argostoli and Livatho.
You will then head to the Orealios Gaea Winery to taste some delicious local Greek wines at one of the finest producers on the island. Here you can taste the Robola which is specific to this area - the Robola Valley.
Next, you will explore the monastery named in honour of the patron saint of the island - St. Gerasimos Monastery. The most majestic monastery on the island features a splendid bell tower and displays the patron Saint’s relics. Ensure you have dressed appropriately for this stop - knees and shoulders covered.
You will continue to the spectacular Drogorati Cave where you can marvel at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites in this 100 million-year-old cave.
You will make a short stop at the famous Antisamos Beach to snap some pictures and marvel at the dazzling waters.
Next is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Efimia. This once-quiet fishing town now attracts yachts and tourists looking to admire the beautiful sea views from traditional Greek tavernas on the waterfront.
Afterwards, we will then take a rowing boat out to visit the spectacular Melissani Lake which is hidden inside the Melissani Cave. This incredible underground lake is a fantastic sight to see and you’ll be blown away by the natural beauty here.
The tour will stop at the stunning Myrtos Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Relax on the glistening sands and take a dip in the crystalline waters of the Ionian Sea. Don’t forget to snap plenty of pictures of the breathtaking scenery!
The last stop on the tour will be the scenic fishing villages of Assos and Fiscardo. Lush pine-tree-lined cliffs, dazzling aquamarine waters and idyllic landscapes are the delights you will find here.
You will be dropped off at your pick-up point or your resort.
