Embark on a 2-day winter adventure in Jotunheimen National Park, home to Norway’s highest mountain range. The trip includes a journey aboard our historic Bombardier snow coach to the remote village of Eidsbugarden.
Here, you’ll stay overnight in a traditional DNT lodge (Norwegian Trekking Association), surrounded by snow-covered peaks. Enjoy authentic Norwegian hospitality with delicious meals and the cozy charm of the winter landscape.
You’ll also receive snowshoes and a map, allowing you to explore the stunning surroundings of Eidsbugarden at your own pace – a truly unforgettable Norwegian winter experience.

Program
The meeting point is Tyin. However, if you pre-book the transfer service from Oslo, Bergen or Flåm, we will pick you up at the bus in Tyinkrysset.
Please ensure that you arrive at the selected meeting point no later than 1:30 PM (13:30).

Activity: Snowcoach to Eidsbugarden

Departure: 1:45 pm. Duration: about 45 minutes. Arrival: 2:30 pm.
These charming snowcoaches are essential for the residents of Eidsbugarden, providing the only link to civilization during the harsh winter months. Our snowcoaches, run daily on a fixed schedule between Tyin and Eidsbugarden, taking you on an approximately 45-minute journey through a mesmerizing winter wonderland.

Eidsbugarden – check-in, waffles, and snowshoeing
Upon arrival at Eidsbugarden, check in at Fondsbu, where we will serve you traditional Norwegian waffles before you will be provided with a pair of snowshoes to explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace. Our friendly driver will give you a brief introduction on how to use the snowshoes and offer suggestions for the best routes to take. You can take a self-guided snowshoe walk and immerse yourself in the stunning winter landscape, enjoying the fresh air and tranquil silence.

Accommodation Fondsbu DNT
The accommodation for the night is Fondsbu, a charming lodge from the Norwegian Trekking Association. The lodge is widely known for its good atmosphere, hosts, and great location. Here you can relax after a day outside. They have a cozy library in the loft, or you can enjoy a drink in front of the fireplace in the living room. You will sleep in a private room with a shared bathroom.
Dinner
You will be served a three-course dinner in the evening.

Day 2:
After breakfast, you are welcome to go on another snowshoe hike in the surroundings of Eidsbugarden.

Snowcoach back to Tyin
With rosy cheeks and fresh memories in mind, our snowcoaches will transport you back to civilization. The snowcoach departs back to Tyin at 12:30 AM (12:30).
If you booked the bus back to Oslo, Bergen or Flåm, we will lead you to the right bus stop.
