This tour covers the three major areas of the Black Hills and Badlands. You can put down the planning, and relax as we take you to the significant points of interest. At times, we may deviate from the itinerary for some surprise visits. We can spend more or less time at each location based on your interests.

Our guides are trained in a way that enhances your experience on so many levels. We care about your time here most of all and are willing to go out of our way to ensure you have an excellent experience. Photography is something we love as well, and photos will be provided at the end of each day, free of charge.

Needles Eye

Traveling up Needles Highway leaves you in awe. As we get higher, the views get better. Three tunnels, numerous viewpoints, and of course the famous Needles Eye Tunnel are just a few things we'll see. Photos are a must on this out-of-this-world drive.
Sylvan Lake

Crazy Horse Memorial

One of the most famous War Chiefs, Crazy Horse represents a true Native American Hero. Learn about Crazy Horse on the way and what made him so unique. Needles Highway

Needles Highway is a section of South Dakota's scenic State Route 87 that winds through the Black Hills area. It was originally created in 1922 by Governor Peter Norbeck, who sought to create a roadway that would allow visitors to see the "Cathedral Spires" of this otherwise inaccessible region. The drive winds through the rugged landscape, offering travelers stunning views of the Needles Eye Tunnel and other rock formations.

Devil's Tower is a striking geologic formation located in Wyoming, USA. Dating back millions of years, the rock tower stands an impressive 867 feet tall and is visible from miles away. The area surrounding Devil's Tower has a long history of spiritual significance for Native Americans and was declared the country’s first National Monument in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt. Locally, the landmark is called Mato Tipila or “Bear Lodge” and is connected with several Native American creation stories.

One of the most unique places in South Dakota. Bizarre in fact. The Badlands was one of Frank Lloyd Wrights's favorite places, saying that it was nature's architecture. Within its borders are Bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, pronghorn, and an abundance of wildflowers. We'll visit both the Northern and Southern Units if time allows.
Buffalo Gap National Grassland

Buffalo Gap National Grassland is a unique and beautiful landscape located in South Dakota. This designated grassland contains a variety of habitats, ranging from the native prairie, sandstone badlands, and ponderosa pine forests to wetlands, creeks, streams, and rivers. It is home to abundant wildlife, including mule deer, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, hawks, and songbirds. Buffalo Gap is also known for its spectacular views of the Black Hills, providing breathtaking panoramas to visitors. Buffalo Gap National Grassland is also an essential ecological area with diverse plant species, including western wheatgrass, blue gama grasses, and buffalo grass, which can be found in abundance. The town was founded by German immigrants who dreamed of creating an idealistic utopia; however, the harsh conditions soon took their toll. As time passed, more and more people left the town until the 1970s, almost entirely abandoning it. Today, this once-thriving community is a silent reminder of the past, with several buildings still standing as a testament to its former inhabitants. The most prominent landmark is Scenic’s old schoolhouse, built in 1910.
