What you can expect

Experience the rich cultural heritage of Bangkok as you visit the city's most spectacular sites: the Grand Palace with Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).

Start your journey with a hotel pick-up (if option selected) and head to Wat Pho, home to the 151-foot (46-meter) Reclining Buddha. This historic temple, one of Bangkok’s oldest, is renowned as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage and served as a royal monastery during the reign of King Rama I. Learn about its educational significance as you explore its ornate pavilions and halls.

Next, cross the Chao Phraya River by boat to visit Wat Arun, known as the Temple of Dawn. Its towering 70-meter spire, adorned with colored glass and Chinese porcelain, stands as one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks and offers stunning photo opportunities.

Continue to the Royal Grand Palace, a magnificent 60-acre (25-hectare) complex showcasing traditional Thai architecture. Within the palace grounds lies Wat Phra Kaew, Thailand’s most sacred temple, housing the 26-inch (66-cm) Emerald Buddha statue carved from a single block of jade. Learn about the ceremonial tradition where the king changes the Buddha's gold outfits at the beginning of each season to bring prosperity to the nation.

Explore the palace complex with your guide, marveling at golden domes, intricately carved murals, and shimmering mosaics. Depending on religious events or royal activities, you may have the opportunity to enter the Coronation and Royal Funeral Halls.

Upon request or prior confirmation, guests may also choose to visit the Gems Gallery for a final shopping experience before returning to their hotel.
