Austin Taco Food Walking Tour
To begin your tour, your guide will meet you outside of Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC), which is dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of the cultural arts of Mexican Americans and Latino cultures.
You will then walk through the Rainey Street Historic District, which is dominated by renovated houses turned into bungalow bars.
At your first food stop, you will get a chicken empanada - a deep fried pocket stuffed with shredded chicken with garlic sauce on the side.
When you are finished, you will head to the Colorado River and The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, which is famous for the world’s largest urban bat colony that resides under it.
Next you will head to your first taco stop where you’ll choose from options such as a grilled steak taco, a shrimp macha taco, or a breakfast taco.
You’ll then head to your next stop, where you will have your choice of a beef, pork, grilled chicken, or a vegetarian taco. These tacos come in many different variations so you are guaranteed to find something that peaks your interest.
Next, continue toward your last taco stop of the day. You will choose from options such as a fish n’ chips taco, a Korean fried rice taco, a Kobe bacon burger taco, and many more.
At your last stop you will get a doughnut for dessert. You may choose from classics like powdered sugar, sprinkle, glazed old fashioned, or choose a special flavor such as Captain Crunch.
