This full-day package tour will have you stopping to marvel at the beauty and splendor of a centuries-old summer palace for past Kings of Siam, visiting several ruins around the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and also cruising down the wide expanse that is the Chao Phraya - Thailand's biggest river.
Make your own way to River City Shopping Complex by 7.30am (easy to locate right next to Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel) for general formalities before departure at 8.00am by air-conditioned coach headed for Ayutthaya Province.
Traveling with an English speaking Guide, your first stop, scheduled at approximately 9.15am, will be Wat Phutthaisawan, the royal monastery where the white prang (Khmer-style pagoda), located in the middle of the ancient compound
Then it is off to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand, then known as Siam. Ayutthaya was included in UNESCO's List of World Heritage Sites back in 1991. During your time here you will visit Wat Mahathat, the royal monastery that served as the residence for the supreme monk plus Wat Phra Sri Sanphet which was the holiest temple on the site of the old Royal Palace. Also on the itinerary is Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit to see the large bronze Buddha image there.
Then you will be driven to Wat Chong Lom Pier in Nonthaburi Province where you will board the Grand Pearl Cruiser. Meander down the mighty Chao Phraya River, otherwise known as the River of Kings, and enjoy a superb buffet lunch including a variety of Asian and Western cuisines.
The Grand Pearl will make its way to Bangkok through Nonthaburi and Koh Kret 'The Monn Community'. A coffee break will be served, or enjoy a relaxing drink (at your own expense), as you pass The Royal Barges, Thammasart University, The Royal Grand Palace, and Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn) until you arrive back at River City by approximately 4.00pm.
