A huge naturalistic, environmental, architectural and cultural-historical heritage that from the city, entering the hinterland and along the coast, rich in inlets and beaches, reaches the geo-site of Capo Caccia, famous for the spectacular belvedere of the Foradada from which unique and evocative itineraries depart for enthusiasts and visitors of all ages. A true open-air environmental museum, a dynamic ecomuseum that can be visited in different and personalized ways following the expectations of those who want to venture and dive inside a protected territory rich in a multi-thousand-year history: from the evidence of the Neolithic, to the Nuragic civilization, to that of the Roman Empire, to the history of foreign dominations, to the evidence of World War II, to the present day.
You will spend the day within a naturalistic area that holds a cultural and historical heritage waiting to be discovered.
There are several part of the ecomuseum:
- Casa Gioiosa with its museum of memory related to the history of agricultural transformation of the territory, a theme park and an art exhibition dedicated to the book “The Little Prince,” an immersive and emotional tunnel (Teleia) dedicated to marine environments;
- The M.A.S.E. museum dedicated to the writer Antoine De Saint Exupèry;
- The M.A.P.S. an environmental and historical museum set in the promontory of rare beauty of Punta Giglio;
- The “Le Prigionette” oasis from which nature and historical itineraries depart to be traveled on foot, by bicycle, mini car and electric bike;
- The Roman villa of Sant'Imbenia, evidence of the passage of Roman civilization in Alghero.
