A unique opportunity to see the best of Christchurch and Akaroa on this shore excursion. First, you will depart Akaroa and travel through the Banks Peninsula and on to the city of Christchurch. On arrival, there will be some time to explore the Botanical Gardens before commencing on a sightseeing tour of Christchurch City which highlights various landmarks as well as the damage and rebuilding efforts from the 2011 earthquake. You’ll then make a stop in the city centre, which offers you some time for lunch (own expense) and to explore the city on foot. After departing the city, head to the Sign of the Takahe on the Port Hills for some magnificent views of the Christchurch, Canterbury Plains, and Southern Alps, before returning to Akaroa for a guided tour of the famous Giant’s House: a local attraction with beautiful mosaic sculptures and pristine gardens.
