Surround yourself with architectural marvels as we embark on a journey to the Valley of the Temples, one of the most evocative sites in the Greek world and a significant complex beyond Greece itself. Our visit will take us to the temples perched on the high ridge overlooking the sea. We'll walk the Sacred Way and marvel at the grandeur of the Concordia Temple, which, in the 6th century, was transformed into a Christian church, sparing it from much of the devastation that befell the site over the centuries. You'll have the opportunity to wander amidst the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the largest temple ever constructed by the Greeks, which regrettably was demolished to create the harbor for the nearby town of Porto Empedocle. Named one of the '10 Wonderfully Unique Beaches' by TripAdvisor, Scala dei Turchi's limestone cliff emerges between two pristine sandy beaches. To reach it, we'll follow the coastline and ascend a natural limestone staircase, reminiscent of a grand staircase. The Scala dei Turchi boasts a wavy and irregular shape, characterized by gentle, rounded lines. Its name harks back to the past incursions of Saracen pirates, colloquially referred to by locals as 'Turchi' (Turkish). These pirates, in fact, discovered this location as a safer landing spot for their ships, shielded from the fierce African winds, unlike the rest of the southern coastline.
