Visit to the archaeological site of the Caliphal City of Medina Azahara (MADINAT AL-ZAHRA), 20 minutes from Córdoba, (the Luminous City, World Heritage Site since 2018). Medina Azahara was built by the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Rahman III to show his power to the world in the year 936. After prospering for several years, it was razed during the civil war that ended the caliphate in 1009-1010. The remains of the city were forgotten for almost 1,000 years until their rediscovery at the beginning of the 20th century. Return to Córdoba and lunch in a typical restaurant - Halal Menu.
