Overview

Short on time in Ghent but want to experience Belgian chocolate? This tasting is the perfect introduction to Belgian chocolate. In just 40 minutes, you’ll get to taste chocolate bonbons and single-origin chocolates from three of Belgium’s top artisanal chocolatiers (awarded Gault & Millau Chocolatier of the Year 2019, 2024, and 2025). Learn about their inspiring stories and gain insights into the chocolate-making process from an expert. You’ll also have the chance to try a selection of cacao products, taking you on a journey from the cacao bean to the final bonbon. At the end of the tasting, you'll receive a personalised chocolate visa, making you an official ambassador of Belgian chocolate!”

The tasting takes place in one of Ghent's oldest houses, House de Lelye, dating back to the 16th century, next to the iconic Gravensteen Castle.

  • Due to the fact that our shop is located in a historical building, it is not easily accessible by wheelchair. If you use a wheelchair or you have any other support needs, contact us beforehand so we can look together what we can do to make this experience accessible for you.
  • This activity takes place in a chocolate shop. The tasting room temperature is around 18°C to maintain the quality of the chocolate. We would advise to bring a sweater if you are easily cold.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers
  • Only children aged 8 and above are allowed to participate in the activity. Due to the explanatory nature of the experience, we recommend it for older children who can fully appreciate the activity. Our tasting room is intimate, and we strive to create an enjoyable environment for everyone. For this reason, we kindly ask that participating children are able to sit calmly and listen throughout the tasting.

Welcome to our cozy tasting room, where we host small groups of up to 8 guests for an intimate and personalised experience. Sample artisanal chocolates from top chocolatiers located throughout Belgium—all within just 40 minutes. Explore the diversity of Belgian chocolate and discover which style of chocolate fits you best, without the need to travel around. Enjoy an interactive experience as you explore the craftsmanship of Belgian chocolate with a chocolate expert (one of the founders of the Chocolade Ambassade). After the tasting, feel free to shop for chocolate if you wish. There’s no obligation to buy, but we’re happy to offer personalised advice based on your tasting preferences to help you find the perfect gift to take home. We are located in the historic centre of Ghent, around the corner of the Gravensteen castle & a 5-min walk from Graslei & Korenlei (the boats tours) This means the tasting can be easily combined with a day of sightseeing.
