You will be picked up from your hotel at 7 a.m. Just one hour's drive north of Santa Cruz. Afasi offers this unforgettable 4-hour hike in two completely different biotopes. Hike through an intact jungle with diverse flora. A lot of plants during these jungel walk cames from te Amazon forest. The hiker then crosses a dry savannah with another type of flora and fauna. One can see the typical plants from the Chaco, the dry part of Bolivia. Later you will visits and claim to the high red rock formations. A lots of details are waiting for photographers. Vultures are everywhere.
The restaurant is nearby and you will be served lunch. Vegetarian food is possible. An hour-long siesta is certainly welcome for everyone. At the end of this hike you can take a tour of the wildlife rescue center and learn some interesting details about the local fauna. You can feed the 130 turtles and watch pumas being fed. Beautiful adventure photos are guaranteed here too. At around 4:30 p.m. you will be driven back to your hotel with the realization that you had an exciting day in the tropical part of Bolivia.
The hike is only recommended for guests who have a certain level of physical fitness. Tree trunks, roots, bushes with thorns, small swamps, river beds or steep paths await you. Outside the jungle the sun can be blazing and you won't find a restaurant for a cool drink. So pure nature!
We recommend good shoes, a sun hat, a long-sleeved shirt, long pants because of thorns and sharp grass. Take enough liquid with you in your backpack and snacks.
