The bustling farming community of Mto Wa Mbu, located between Manyara and Ngorongoro, is home to around 18,000 people. This cultural melting pot is one of the few places in Tanzania where all 120 tribes coexist harmoniously. Despite its name, which translates to ‘Mosquito River’ due to the village's permanent water source, there are thankfully few mosquitoes.

Expect to encounter the "Big Five" (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos), along with cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a wide variety of bird species. The park is especially known for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras travel across the savannah in search of fresh pastures.
