Short Hiking around Kathmandu valley. Popular as trekking, hiking and recreation area, the Shivapur – Nagarjune National park offers the nearest retreat away from the Kathmandu city life. The park was originally established as a watershed and wildlife reserve but developed into a national park in 2002 for the protection of its unique natural richness. Nagarjuna hill was included in the parkin 2009. Vegetation in the park includes 129 species of mushrooms while animal include 19 species of mammals including beer, leopard, deer, wild boas. The national park might be the nearest national park from the capital city in the whole then it's only a short drive of just 12km from Kathmandu, which is the gateway to the national park. Another optional to visit the national park is via Sundarijal which can be reached by a drive of just half an hour.
Tour Itinerary
Day 01:
Kathmandu- Chisapani drive from Kathmandu to Sundrijal for an hour and trek to Chisapani. Overnight at Chisapani. (L/D)
Day 02:
Chisapani – Nagarkot trek to Nagarkot. Experience natural beauties on the way passing through Shivapuri national park. Overnight at Nagarkot. (B/L/D)
Day 03:
Early in the morning see sunrise view and panoramic views of various montains including Mount Everest. After breakfast trek down to Changunarayan and visit old Hindu temple Changunaraya and drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel. (B/L)
