Great location, with an easy walk from the train. Right in the heart of Zermatt. We appreciated the storage room and boot warmer/dryer, as we were skiing. However, the free breakfast was very basic, and the woman who manages the breakfast room was difficult to deal with (reminding everyone 5-10 minutes before the breakfast closed, even though we'd been there every day and knew the closing time.) She hovered a bit and was not friendly. The bigger concern for us was lack of coffee maker in our room. This made it necessary to go down three floors just to get a cup of coffee every morning, but we thought no problem, we'll do it. Turns out - that IS a problem. We were told we could not leave with a cup of coffee and there were no "to go cups." This was very frustrating and inconvenient.

Enjoyable stay
Large room, great that it offered amenities such as kettle and a fridge. Breakfast was basic but fine. Great location and view from patio was amazing. Beds were fine but the pillow was a bit flat. Staff were nice. Overall happy with the stay.

The hotel is located five minutes walk from the train station.conveniently located near the shops nd restaurants.The room is ok with a view of the Matterhorn on a clear skies..The room is so hot no air condition,we cannot open the door outside the veranda coz there are lots of flies.The bed is comfortable but the pillow they provided is only one per person and too soft..You can hear squeaky noise from the top floor..The breakfast is ok just wish they have hot breakfast in the menu..

Poor wifi but otherwise OK
Wifi is slow and flaky: I was disconnected from a zoom meeting multiple times and it was a struggle to use the internet to book a hotel room for my next few nights. In room refrigerator did not keep things cold and the in room safe did not work. In contrast to the hotels.com description, there is an elevator. The room is larger than in many Swiss hotels. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast is good if you like the excellent bread, cheese and jam but the only hot food is toast and boiled eggs (as in many other Swiss hotels). There's lots of hot water and the bed was comfortable. There's a room behind the front desk for left luggage which is more security than in some hotels.

Hotel staff (I don't recall the name) who helped us was super good and polite. He took extra effort to give us room with view without extra charge. Additionally I was surprised that our room ready to check in by 12 noon. Breakfast was good too. Location is perfect, just 5 min walk from train station and main market.

Hotel Continental, a perfect stay
We loved our stay at Hotel Continental. The breakfast is lovely and filling, the rooms clean and comfortable and quiet. The staff so friendly and helpful. We loved opening our balcony to enjoy the Mountain View’s and courtyard below. Only a short walk from the train station and close to so many restaurants, walks and fun shops. We loved our fondu dining experience at Swiss Chalet (just across the courtyard from the hotel). It couldn’t have been more enjoyable. Thank you to the staff!

1-night in Zermatt
Room was small, carpet was a little dingy. The shower leaked and the beds/pillows were not that comfortable. It was convenient to the train station and shopping and pretty reasonably priced but not super comfortable. Best for younger travelers on a budget who won't spend much time in the room.
