So I paid over 1,000 for one night stay here. The night before I stayed at a different all inclusive for 700 and they offered so much more. At the Kilindi the property is starting to fall apart, there’s paint in the pools that comes off on your body. And for the price your paying they do not suggest or offer any extras . If you want dinner on the beach or a floating breakfast you have to chase them around and might not happen anyway. The final touch of disappointment for me was the overwhelming smell of burning trash /plastic in the morning. Covered the whole property and it was hard to breath….they need to bring their price wayyyy down.

Property is nice, but the area is not the best in Zanzibar. Beach is right where a working fishing village is located. Not very private at all! Property is nice, grounds are ok. Overall upkeep of the property is below expectations. We switched villas and the second one was better, but not in pristine condition. Villa layout is awkward. Bathroom is separate from the room structure and with a very peculiar design, offering very little privacy. Pricing is outrageous, at more then $1,000 a night, for a so-so experience. The bright spot is service and food, but overall this property is way way way overpriced!!

Dear Alejandro, Thank you for your review, apologies again that the experience was not to your satisfaction. Regarding the points raised; Kilindi is indeed a very particularly designed property with facets such as the local fishing village, separated rooms & bathrooms, as well as the openness and exposure to the natural surroundings. We are grateful that you enjoyed the service and food, and as per our interactions and review - the areas and conditions mentioned have been sincerely noted.

Kilindi is very unique hotel. This is so private and quite. Every staff is so so kindly. Foods are very very food and special. But hotel rooms does not have any window. If you are scared animals(lizard or insect) you will be not happy.

We loved Kilindi. My husband and I came here for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The property is gorgeous, and the friendly staff looked after us beautifully the entire time. Daudi was our personal attendant and he was so friendly and attentive without ever hovering over us. The chef makes incredible fresh meals, we didn't have a single thing at breakfast, lunch, or dinner that we didn't love. The bar makes great drinks and fresh daily juices. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic, barefoot getaway, this is the perfect place. The room are enormous with outdoor pools, lounges, and showers. The cleaner left us flowers on the bed daily. The spa is lovely for a massage. And again, all the food is incredible! We loved that you can switch around where you eat for each meal. We loved having a meal down by the beach one night and private breakfasts on our own terrace. The beach is quiet and private in a little fishing harbor, but you can walk/swim to kendwa beach if you want a little more action on a large public beach. My only tip for Kilindi would be to have a small section of the pool that's under cover. It would have been nice to be able to be in the pool without the sun scorching down. We really hope to go back one day! Thank you Kilindi!
