Excellent base for walking in and around Yosemite
Curry (now Half Dome) village is an unpretentious base for walking in Yosemite Valley. It is right on the spot for early starts, and the simple cabins (I was in a tent cabin) avoid the need for camping equipment. Facilities on site are well run and just what is needed. The communal dining hall is very good, reasonably priced, and has a nice atmosphere in the evening. The pool has stunning views straight up to Glacier Point, and with the adjacent shower block is very welcome at the end of a hot day. The on site store has an ATM and is well stocked for basic needs including simple self catering.

great accommodations for hikers
this place was great, keeping in mind that you are essentially camping in a permanent tent cabin. the provided cots were comfy enough to rest after days of long hikes, and the "lodge" was a perfect place to find food and drink after a long day on the trails. at the end of the day, you are in the middle of yosemite valley, so how bad could it really be?!

Perfect location
Although Curry Village is technically camping, it was wonderful. It is much better to stay in the valley and camp than have a hotel outside of the valley. Once you park you really don't have to use the car again if you don't want to. Curry Village is located in a beautiful location and everything you need is near there: rafting, bicycles, shuttle bus, pizza place, cafeteria, store. I am not a camper but when the weather is perfect like it is in July in Yosemite Valley, it is great and easy. The price was right for the valley. Stay at least 3 days in the valley and make sure you go on the rafting float. It is beautiful.

Camping 1-foot above the ground
I've stayed at Curry Village many times because of its location to my favorite trailheads of Vernal and Nevada Falls, easy access to the shuttle, and its price. I like to camp and this campground has the tents already set up, a nice frame, a decent cot-like bed with a remarkably comfortable mattress, and the potential to see a dear or bear wander through the grounds in the middle of the night. However, since Curry Village became Half Dome Village this year, the food service has plummeted in quality - bring that part of Curry Village back. I will stay there again for the reasons in the previous paragraph, but I will not eat there - except for maybe the Coffee Corner in the Pavillion and the Pizza (that is still very good). The cafeteria made food so salty I couldn't eat it, and when I did, it upset my stomach for hours. The outside snack bar on the other hand, had food so bland I couldn't taste it. And the grilled cheese sandwich was the worst I have ever had - and I'm pretty forgiving about grilled cheese. But this one had the wrong bread - dry and too much of it and very little cheese with absolutely no taste. We stayed 4 nights and 2 nights we went to Yosemite Village and ate in their dining room and the food there was pretty good.

Comfy cabins in the most idyllic setting
We stayed at curry Village in May and had a most memorable experience. We had a heated cabin which is right underneath the mountains in the most idyllic setting. There were a number of school groups but the village has strict noise rules and there were no issues that we experienced. The village has a great pizza cafe and dining facilities where you can get to know fellow travellers. The Yosemite bus stops right inside the village for easy access to the hole area.

Over crowded Yosemite
Took 2 hours to get to center of Half Dome/Curry Village. Staff not friendly, not helpful. Signage poor for tent locations, bike, or hiking tours. Bike rental Guy-Justin really awesome & helped us plan early morning route before crowds woke up! Won't return to stay there!

Great location, good tent, poor toilet blocks
The heated tent was great with decent, comfortable beds. It was easy to stay warm enough even with chilly nights. The location is perfect for hiking in Yosemite with the Vernal/Nevada Falls trail starting just outside the campground. Glacier point also looms above the camp giving an amazing view in the mornings. The pizza restaurant is great after a long day hiking along with the bar for a well deserved beer. My only disappointment was with the toilet/shower block. Multiple toilets were severely blocked and dirty one night. The showers seemed to have been designed to purposefully compromise privacy...the walls only came just up to eye height making it possible to see into the cubical next to you and the shower curtains needed to be about 6 inches wider to reach from one wall to the other, as it was there was an opening anyone could see you through. The water temperature wasn't great and the block didn't seem to be heated so getting out of the shower was fairly unpleasant. Aside from the toilet/shower issues I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would go back, but please update the shower block!

Not bad for heated tent
Maybe it was the wonder of being in the middle of Yosemite National Park and all its splendor or that we didn't expect much for a tent, but it lived up to our expectations. It was clean and cozy with the heat. There are shared bathrooms so you have to make sure you go before bed. Juan was very helpful and gave us a great tip which is to call at least a day in advance to request a room close to the bathrooms. This is key when traveling with a potty training toddler. Otherwise, it's a campsite with places to eat. This is also key since you are in the home of various wildlife. Follow the rules about the bear box and all will be well. Do not regret our experience there a bit. Woke up the next morning after a sound sleep to see deer no less than 50 ft away from us crossing a river. Talk about gorgeous! We already want to go back!

Great place did not want to leave!!
Fantastic location, great experience , will go straight back if we are ever in Yosemite NP. Recommend going in winter if there is plenty of snow and a free hot chocolate on arrival. we stayed in a heated tent for 2,which could accommodate 4 people easily. comfortable and definitely warm enough. Winter Stay
Our receptionist was a bit sarcastic explainning the differences between the tents...I did not like that about the friendliness of the place...the tent has a big sign inside regarding mice or whatever rodent that lives in the area apparently rats can go inside the tent...disturbing! I did my research before staying here so I was aware of the experience I was getting into...you get what you pay for. Overall staff can do a lot better...
Coldest night of my life! But it was beautiful...Yosemite has no flaws.

Exactly what it promised
The tent was clean and the heater perfectly. It made a huge difference having a heated tent on the cold winter night. It was exactly what we imagined the tent would be. It would have been better if we would have used our own sleeping bags, but nonetheless we had a comfortable night sleep.

A Worthy Experience
My husband and I stayed in a non-heated tent and it was cold! Besides that, it was so worth the experience. Amazing spot to chill, relax, and see the beauty of the park. They have free wifi if you need in the main lodge and a restaurant on site. This was a really cool excursion, we highly recommend and hope to do it again in the future!

16th Year we bring the new year in Yosemite. We mostly stay in the tent caqbins due to price. Bring warm clothes in the winter and you will be just fine. We saved lots of money by just cooking our own meals,

Great place for a wintertime visit with kids
Bring a sleeping bag--we needed 'em to keep warm with nighttime temperatures in the high 20s. It was really nice to let the kids out the door to play without having to accompany them outside, as we would in a hotel. There's so much to enjoy, even on mostly rainy days. We loved ice skating and Sunday brunch at the Ahwahnee, then some time playing in dry, fluffy snow as we drove through Crane Flat on our way out.

Excellent Nature Experience
I've stayed at Curry Village before and really loved it which is why we chose it again this time. I really liked that even though we were staying in an unheated tent, we were given blankets and towels. Also, the Pavillon right by the registration is a very cute place to hang around in the evenings and mornings for breakfast. Although I really like that you get the full on camping experience in the unheated tent cabins without having to sleep on the ground, it definitely was too cold (even with really warm sleeping bags) at this time of the year (November). I stayed in the same tent cabins in early October and that was perfect!

Great camping village, heating was great considering how cold & snowy it was outside. We were able to leave 1 night early due to possibly being snowed in & they allowed hotels.com to refund 1 night for us. Worth staying in. Wifi isn't great but you're staying there for Yosemite so it doesn't matter in my opinion
