We stayed here for 30 minutes and that was too long but we were trying to find other accommodation or face the journey home. No way could we stay in this tiny, dirty room,it was disgusting

Staff were superb , nothing too much trouble .
Food was very tasty and cooked to order .
Bed was very comfortable. Would recommend the larger cabin as space inside the Seagull was limited .
All in all , a very different stay especially if you want to get away from the hotel chain venues

Posted 22 Jun 2021 on HotelsVery quirky accommodation, super friendly staff. Excellent food. If you get to eat in the buffet car it feels like the orient express. If I am ever in York again I would certainly stay here.Remember you are next to a working railway.
Good for those with limited mobility as on the mostly flat, but unlikely to get a wheelchair down the aisle of the accommodation so I would suggest calling before booking as they may have more accessible than we had.

Love the theme, the staff, and the cosy bar and restaurant area. It's a unique place and a great experience for anyone who likes trains. It also serves great food and the bar and restaurant areas have a lovely atmosphere. One of the most fun hotel stays ever!
