Lovely place in a lovely location
Posted 4 Jun 2022 on HotelsReally lovely place and lovely location near to York. Peaceful setting, cosy rooms and lovely breakfast. Claire was also very friendly and helpful during our stay so we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The entrance from the en-suite back to the bathroom is so low that on return from the bathroom during the night I banged my head and knocked myself out. When I came too I had to leave and seek medical attention. I also got bitten by something whilst asleep or unconscious. It does refer to "1 bar" under food and drink and as this place was a pub you presume that's what your going to get, A good pint and a hearty breakfast but there is no "bar" and no food. Continental breakfast promised never happened. The room was cold. There heating was off. The bed sheets were cold and damp and the stairs carpet was dirty. The kitchen area was also dirty. The worse place i have ever stayed at and at a price of a 4 star hotel in london.
