The place is beautiful. I’ve only stayed there for one night on a work trip, but I got to enjoy the outdoors with a coffee in the afternoon, an amazing home cooked breakfast and a lovely chat with the owner. The room was exactly as pictured, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was so cute! It’s a real bed and breakfast, you feel home and welcomed. A unique property that’s worth a stay!

This historic 1850 mansion was a chance to step back in time, but with modern conveniences such surreptitiously tucked in. The breakfasts were so sumptuous and hearty that we did not need to eat again until late in the afternoon. We were served on dinnerware that made me feel I was playing a role in Downton Abbey (but American style!). The host Lori had all sorts of interesting local lore and history to add and made the breakfast that much more enjoyable. Recommend this highly!

We had the best time here. The property is absolutely beautiful, the hostess is wonderful, and the property has an incredible historic significance to boot! The rooms were beautiful too. This was one of the best stays we have experienced.

We absolutely loved hosting you and your sister, Christine! We get to meet the absolute best people from all over, and we're thankful you both decided to stay here when you had other options closer to Hershey Stadium for Lady Gaga!Do hurry back; we'll be here waiting!PS: I think Kora's missing you both!

Wonderful house
Posted 10 Jun 2022 on HotelsLoved it. Beautiful house and very well kept. The food was great. Laura, the owner, is super friendly and looks out for her guests. We had an amazing time.
Our room specifically had pros and cons.
Pros: top floor so no one walking on your head. Private shower/bathroom. Fridge and microwave. Snacks and other useful items provided. Very comfortable and adorable.
Cons: Because it's the top floor, they were small windows at floor level (still let in a lot of light). Small shower which was fine for us but might be tough for some.
I'd stay her again for sure!

Thank you for the very accurate description of the third floor rooms! It's hard to sometimes convey the quirky nature of a historic home, but you do so beautifully. We made the very best use of the upper level by the additional rooms, but they do indeed come with challenges in space. We try to make up for it in the experience for our guests.
Thank you for the kind words. They mean so very much to a small business like ours!

Stay was excellent. Despite some really lousy weather, highlight was returning to the mansion. 👍

No way to lock room door when leaving mansion and no secure place to leave valuables.
No bedroom smoke detector nor any evacuation instructions in the event of an emergency.
No one to greet us at check-in and no personal contact with anyone until morning of departure.
Contactless check-in email instructions were helpful but lacked precise location of room (i.e. 1st room on right) and room was not clearly marked
Poorly maintained outside landscaping.
WILL NOT RETURN AGAIN!!!

10+ - A Great Place to Stay
Posted 23 Oct 2021 on HotelsWithout question, one of the best places we've ever stayed. Everything was wonderful. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The mansion itself is amazing - so much to see!! Breakfast was great. Best of all, Lori was so friendly and made sure we had anything we needed. The whole experience was worthy of a 10+ rating.

Lovely mansion, outside a work in progress
Posted 20 Sep 2021 on HotelsLovely mansion and lovely host. If you do not like to "socialize" with the host, this is not the place for you. We enjoyed our breakfast conversations with other guests (only one other couple with us) and the host/host son. I wasn't crazy about the food served, though I am picky and like basic items. However, I do not travel to B&B for the food. The only other couple in the mansion were in the room next to ours. Conversations could be heard and when their overhead light was on, it lit up our room through the transom window above our door. I didn't feel as though I had much privacy for those reasons. The outside landscaping was being worked on when we were there (around the pond)

Thanks for the review, Christine! Apologies on the sausage and egg strata or baked apples served the morning after your stay. Breakfast at The Emig Mansion consists of menu items not associated with being home! We always ask for dietary requirements and preferences, encourage guests to be candid about their likes, and accommodate as best we can.
We cannot agree with you more about the B&B experience! It is all about the company and conversations with the staff and other guests. For our part, we truly enjoy the personalities all our guests bring to breakfast and throughout their stays. Getting to know our guests, even for a short time is what makes the bed and breakfast experience unique to that of chain hotels and alternate stays.
I appreciate the comments on the privacy, and it is quite the challenge to offer total privacy in a near 200-year-old home. We kindly ask guests to observe "quiet-time" after 9 PM for the quiet enjoyment of everyone's stay, and we certainly can look into alternative into addressing the light and noise pollution between rooms. Thanks for noticing the new waterfall addition to the pond. We like it, too!
Thank you for your stay. If ever vacationing in the area, consider stopping by and staying with The Emig Mansion again!
