The United Arab Emirates’ water parks host the biggest pools, the fastest slides and the highest number of rides of any water parks in the world. The 2013 grand opening of Yas Waterworld followed this trend by presenting 43 exhilarating attractions on a 37-acre (15-hectare) portion of Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
Managed by the team behind the nearby Ferrari World, the park operates just as seamlessly as you’d image it won awards before it even opened its doors. Yas Waterworld is an ideal destination for families, with four intensity-level categories making it easy to plan your day. Whether you’re coming here with kids or you’re just young at heart, plan for a day of fun in the sun at Yas Waterworld.
Rent a cabana to ensure some time to yourself during your stay at the park. Able to host up to six people, the poolside abodes feature fans, lounges and a personalized food service. Enjoy your lunch poolside or simply sit back with a drink in your hand, content with the knowledge that trained staff members are looking out for the whole family. The nearby Marah Fortress will have your little ones meeting new friends as they spray water or race each other down its six slides.
Those who like their rides fast and tall will love Yas Waterworld. Head straight for the Jebel Drop, the highest point in the park. Take in the stunning views across the park, but do it quickly because soon you’ll be plummeting toward the pool at the bottom of one of the park’s most exciting rides. Feel the rush of flying as you glide across the three peaks of Hamlool’s Humps or test your bravery as you ride one of the first looping waterslides in the Middle East, the Liwa Loop.
Yas Waterpark is located in the heart of Yas Island and can be reached by car or bus from the center of Abu Dhabi. Valet parking is available for a fee. The park is open daily and tickets can be pre-purchased online or at the entrance.
