decent in general, although not entirely honest.
When I booked it said "shuttle to/from airport". There wasn't any, the employees didn't know what it was, and made no effort to find out

Needs an overhaul...
Posted 9 Dec 2019 on HotelsFirstly I’d like to say the staff were all helpful welcoming and professional, however that is where the good news ends. Bedding is a scratchy blanket between two sheets. The communal areas are beyond just needing a clean with frayed capers and ancient decor long overdue an overhaul.
Cheap but I’ve stayed in cheaper in the area that were cleaner with better facilities.

bitten by bed bugs
Posted 29 Nov 2019 on Hotelsbreakfast food is better from some hotels, however there were bed bugs and got bitten during the few nights stay, even after changing the bed sheets. something need to be done to the mattress, suggest changing to new ones if they have not been changed for a long time.

This hotel is ideally located among many restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel is a bit dated and could use some refurbishing. Wi-fi was good. The breakfast was quite limited. Good for the price.

The hotel was ok for the online price of about $80 USD/night for Yangon. However, if you do not book online, the price is $120/night and this hotel is not worth it. (for that price there are much nicer hotels in the area). The breakfasts were adequate, there is a new gym, and there is an interesting outdoor rooftop bar if desired.
Though I had a non-smoking room, smoking was allowed in the next rooms and hallways. The carpeting, furniture, bedding/linens, and overall condition of the hotel was outdated, worn, and shabby.
I chose this hotel only because it would except online and credit card payment which is difficult to find in Yangon hotels. Had I ben able to pay in cash, there is a much nicer hotel next door to Alfa for half the price of Alfa Hotel.

Good location budget hotel.

Pros: The roof top bar...tables and chairs set around the roof. You can order meals,snacks and drinks while you enjoy a pleasant breeze and the great view.
Cons: The room, the bathroom.
Location: Walking distance to the Scottish Market with the Main rail station and china town a little further.
Expensive compared to some other countries. Very much a budget hotel. Good breakfast

Pros: View of the pagoda from the room and from the rooftop bar. Location could be better.
Cons: Mouldy smell in the room, badly stained sheets and towels, mould in the bathroom.
Location: Reasonable access, Nice views of Shwedagon
Facilities: Tired, Nothing special, Old, Grubby furniture; Value: Excessive, Not good value; Service: Respectful, Friendly, Courteous, Staff very helpful; Cleanliness: Dirty, Dirty linen mouldy bath;
There are better places to stay, closer to the action and to eating options, eg the Central Hotel. It is, however, a short walk to the main market.
