Felt unsafe, random people hanging out in front of the hotel. There was no AC, check-in was unclear.

3 night without shower there was no shower holder so I can have shower

There were no more parking passes left when I arrived and though I wrote down the required information on a napkin and placed it on my dashboard, I got a parking ticket. I had to spend 40 min on hold with the hotel help number to find out what I could do about the ticket, which delayed my leaving. I also accidentally forgot my phone in my room and was then locked out of the hotel for an hour late at night (I had arrived after a concert) with no way to get back in, as the code to get in was on my phone and the only way to reach staff was with a phone number, which I couldn't call as I didn't have my phone. I finally found someone who had a phone and was able to call the number for me and then I was given a new code and was finally able to get back into the hotel and into my room. Would not stay here again. Even if I had had my phone with me, I still would not have been able to call the help number as I don't have cell phone coverage while I'm traveling, just wifi.

McDreams stated multiple times that there is free parking included in our stay, but when we got there we saw signs that stated there was a €35 fine/ ticket for parking there overnight. We called the hotel number provided to us, and they said it’s not a problem, to just park anywhere and put the parking pass from our room on our car dash, and we will not get ticked/ fined The next morning, we did get a ticket/ fine and when we contacted the hotel for help, they essentially said it’s not their problem we failed to read the parking signs warning us of a possible fine. This was a very misleading and unpleasant experience, because we were also using a rental which meant we had to pay double the ticket amount to the company which added up to over $100 Canadian dollars. Extremely disappointed.

Good location, no staff

The hotel is in a good location and the price was great. The room was spotlessly clean and the shower was very good. BUT - there are no staff on site to deal with any issues, just a phone number to ring. On arrival, we had problems accessing our check in code, which had been sent by email, due to a faulty phone. We were on hold in position 2 on the phone for over 5 minutes before finally hanging up and borrowing a very kind stranger's phone to access the email. The room has no air conditioning or fan and was unbearably hot at night. There were no staff around to ask to borrow one and the queue on the phone was ridiculously long again. All the rooms are on the first floor with a flat roof outside so we couldn't open the window more than a couple of inches while we tried to sleep as we didnt feel it was very secure. So, in summary, a good hotel for price, location and cleanliness, just stick a fan in the room and a few more folk to answer phone calls and it would be perfect!
