The reception was great but the facility is not well-looked after. The rooms were not so clean and the swimming pool was green. The breakfast was below standard and that is being generous. The Milk that was left out for porridge was sour. For the monies paid, I expected more.

Shocked and cancelled. Require a refund

We cancelled our stay on arrival as the establishment was not to our liking. We are still struggling to get our money back as we only booked the night before our arrival. I am shocked by the attitude and that a cancellation policy is used to retain our money.

Dear Micheal We actually refunded and advised accordingly as per the correspondence we explained that we had to wait for the transaction to be processed by Expedia and that until then it would be out of our hands as they retain their booking fee automatically. If you cancelled the reservation via expedia as advised it would have probably been expedited. We have refunded and send the proof of payment, and it's a pity that your impression was so negative but as a farm style establishment with dam water as supply for our pool there is that much we can do to get it to sparkle daily. Hope you had a great stay in the Cape.

Disappointed and uncomfortable stay

No hot water in the shower, in the morning and evening. Bed was uncomfortable. Communal kitchen is left dirty in the evenings. No free bottled water, but filtered tap water. Poor value for the money paid. Service is unprofessional, with a "do not care" attitude.

Dear Anonymous It is truly a pity that you did not report the lack of hot water, then we could have rectified the problem. We whee over capacity this season and when all the geysers are at work this can happen but it's mostly a timing issue and could have been resolved if we where made aware of it. The filtered tap water is available in the rooms as it's adequate for consumption and the bottled water is available for sale from the honesty bar. We are trying to cut down on single use plastic and prefer the local water supply for the rooms water offering. With regards to the kitchen we are a small establishment and cannot employ staff to clean the kistchen after guests have braaied and used the facility after 21h00 in the evening, which most often is the case. We try to stack away the dishes as best possible and as you can imagine when three families braai and have dinner there is a lot of dishes and clenaing to be done that time of the evening. All the rooms have tea and coffee facilities therefore most guest can help themselves to these during the evening and early morning and by breakfast all is cleared for the next day. The family interaction of being able to prepare meals and serve themselves is part of our offering and most of the guests are accommodating as far as that is concerned. We apologies if this was unacceptable for your standards. Thank you for your constructive feedback and we will most certainly make work of improving upon our service and product standard. Check in was a breeze. Owners have very tastefully decorated this old farm house. It gives one a feel of being on a farm but with modern amenities. Breakfast was good. Felt very at home. Would highly recommend this establishment

A very relaxed stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here, very relaxed,the manager made us most welcome also made us dinner one evening, very good. Breakfasts are excellent with lots of choice, bedroom was large also the bathroom in the room we had. It's in the country a little but this has many aventages, would give it a plus for quietness, you can relax here.
