Lovely place,slightly disappointed to have been asked to remove my shoes before going up to my room( I have bad arthritis) secondly difficult getting in and out of the bed due to low beams either side of bed.
I can’t judge on any other room.
I studied the reviews before my stay stay, and people clearly love this beautiful home.

Thank you Francis for your review, which was somewhat disappointing. If you had mentioned about your arthritis, we have shoe covers available. If we'd have known the sloping beams were an issue, we could have moved you to a different room without beams.We have been running the guest house for over 12 years and no one has commented before about the sloping beams. We have regular guests who stay each week and have been coming for many years. We hope you will stay with us in the near future.

Fantastic place
Posted 18 Jun 2022 on HotelsThis is a gem of a place, very warm and welcoming hosts, with nice extra touches such as providing a fan on a very hot day. The breakfast was feshly cooked, generous and delicious.

The room was perfect. Very comfortable, clean and relaxing. Everyone was extremely polite and hospitable. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous!
Posted 27 Aug 2021 on HotelsThe owners of Mayfields obviously love what they do and work extremely hard because the place is finished to an exceptional standard and maintained immaculately. They are really welcoming and friendly. And DO NOT miss out on the cooked breakfast. Spot on. I'll definitely be back if I'm in that part of the country again.
