What a wonderful family owned ski lodge. Super nice people. Love the sitting room with the big stone fireplace that is always going. Games, piano, record player, free coffee, tea, hot chocolate.

Small, dated, expensive

$200 small room with queen bed, old covers, sheets and pillows. Sheet had some kind of small stain on it. Room was far too expensive for what you get.

Winter Park is a sought-after area, and prices here are often higher than in other locations due to the resort community. We strive to keep our prices competitive while providing an affordable hotel option.While I understand your concerns about the room, it’s disappointing that you chose to voice these issues online rather than bringing them to our attention during your stay. I would have been glad to address your concerns during your stay. We could have offered a room change, provided fresh sheets for your comfort, or assisted you in other ways to enhance your experience. But alas, since your dissatisfaction was only made apparent in this review, I was never afforded the opportunity. In the future, when you stay at small family-run businesses, I encourage you to give them the chance to rectify any issues on the spot, rather than choosing to complain after your stay. Small businesses depend on reviews to establish their online presence, and we would have appreciated the opportunity to improve your satisfaction during your stay. I wish you safe travels ahead and hope you continue to support family-run businesses. They can offer a personal touch and a unique experience that often surpasses larger operations if you give them the opportunity.

There was no one there to check us in. We called the number in the lobby and it led us to someone who no longer works there so we were never able to check in and had to make other arrangements

Hello Amelia - Sincerest apologies regarding your reservation. We were called away at the last minute for a family emergency. Your reservation was booked during the changeover time when all our rooms were closed to online bookings.

A gem in Winter Park!

Terrific weekend stay! Older, charming, well-appointed, clean, comfortable and quiet room. Tremendously convenient to everything. Wonderful bargain. Front desk folks friendly & helpful. Will definitely book again! Thanks, Viking Lodge!

Stayed here for a quick ski trip. Loved the location and walking distance to great restaurants.

So it's very important to be sincere and honest during the review process. While you didn't take the time to verbalize what was wrong with your stay, I can see by the rating that you were not happy. This is very important to me. If you were to bring your concerns to me or the staff directly during your stay we would have had the opportunity to correct any deficiencies immediately and make your stay more pleasurable.Because of this, I looked into your stay to try to determine what was wrong.You know what I found?
