Extremely average hotel. Could be nice, solid Victorian building but beautiful fireplaces not lit (on freezing night with snow) and minimal attention to detail and comfort. Deluxe room very basic, get more in a Premier Inn - but bed was comfortable. Nice dining room but no dinner served and disgusting self-serve breakfast. Cannot recommend, disappointing.

Stopped here two nights. However were on two separate bookings as plans changed. The second night the key card needed to be changed before could access room. Also the shower was stuck on the top hot setting which made showering extremely hazardous.

Was placed in an annex when the main building was clearly not busy. Room next to me had two dogs that barked constantly. Fire alarm also went off at 6am. Immediately collected my things and requested a refund of the rest of my stay which they denied - claimed I had to work with Expedia. Expedia put me in call center hell - so I opened a charge back. I’ll not be using this hotel nor Expedia again.

I love staying here and always come however after the closure of the hotel. I've returned and I feel the whole experience has became less superior. Staff and service fabulous as always. However breakfast was extremely disappointing. Half the breakfast items for a full English weren't available, no porridge etc. The bedroom itself very comfortable and a good night sleep. Also the spa facilities aren't currently available and is a huge miss. However I would stay here again but I would love to see the breakfast become much nicer as it was prior.

I stayed 2 nights, the first night there was work of some kind happening till midnight. The second night was terrible, I didn’t sleep at all because someone was removing items in a golf cart with a trailer attached. I will not stay again I feel a refund is in order Regards Paul Ellwood
